Sustainability Commitment

Sustainability Commitment

At ELC, we care about our planet and have made a commitment to sustainability from 2020. Through a number of initiatives,
we vow to make a positive contribution to the future of our environment.
We hope our actions will make a difference in the future of our planet for generations to come, and we encourage
all our partners, students and friends to get on board with us!

Accredited Green Standard School

ELC the only accredited Green Standard School in Australia. Green Standard Schools is a global, not-for-profit association of language schools that are seriously committed to protecting the environment.

Supporting Reforestation:
100 students, 50 trees

For every 100 students that study at ELC, we will plant 50 trees in Australia with the help of One Tree Planted.
Every tree makes a positive impact for nature, wildlife, and people.

Refuse, Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

We will continue our actions to REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE around the school and encourage students to do the same, with information provided in orientation and posters around the school.

Sustainable Social Events

The 3 Student Terrace Houses (formerly known as ELC Student Houses & StudyhouIn order to encourage our whole school community to get involved, we will organise monthly school events to increase environmental awareness, such as fundraising, volunteering or similar.se) are modern and beautifully renovated. Each welcomes 8-10 international students, many of whom study at ELC.

Class Conservation Topics

We aim to increase the number of conversations in our classes on sustainability and social responsibility.
