Endangered Species Conservation

Contribute to the survival of the endangered species which are found nowhere else in the world. Support animals that require intensive care to be rehabilitated
and released back into the wild.

Get involved in the care of both native wildlife and domestic animals and their release. You will get the chance to support and assist the recovery from the January 2020 Australian bushfires.

Work towards preserving the wellbeing of this exotic and precious ecosystem. Activities include (but are not limited to) coral reef surveying, reef monitoring and marine debris clean ups. For duration of 1 week or longer, you will get the chance to get involved in the marine turtle study.

There is no better place to learn to dive than Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Combine this with some awesome marine conservation activities and you will have the time of your life! Focusing on environmental protection and sustainability, this unique program is designed for volunteers interested in scuba diving, marine conservation, citizen science and education, and for those wanting to create some special moments on this endangered wonder, one of the most stunning reefs in the world.

Ocean2Earth run many more volunteering projects in Australia. Contact us with your prospective dates of travel and special interests and we can organise a custom English + Volunteering package for you.

Study English first, then Volunteer in anywhere in Australia

Volunteering projects take place in regional or rural parts of Australia, far from Sydney. This is why students who wish to combine an English course with a volunteering experience first study English with us in Sydney and then move onto their volunteering project after the end of their course.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who has a valid visa to stay in Australia can join the English + Volunteering package with ELC and Ocean2Earth, including people on a visitor visa, Student visa and Working Holiday visa.

Yes, volunterring is not considered “work” in Australia, which means students travelling on a visitor visa can study with us for a few weeks and then join a voluntering experience for a few weeks.

Students on a student visa need to maintain their attendance at school but can choose to join a voluntering project during a study break time or after the end of their course. Students on a student visa typically have 4 weeks holidays between the end of their English course and their visa expiry date, and this is a great time to join a volunteering experience for a few weeks!

To be able to join the volunteering experience, we need to ensure that you can understand all instructions and in particular the safety information. We therefore ask for a minimum pre-intermediate level of English to be able to participate in the program.

Most programs include accommodation, meals, and transport, as well as equipment required to complete the tasks involved. This is important to keep in mind when comparing programs and considering prices as volunteering is a very good value for money work experience!

Most projects include accommodation on site (or accommodation closed by + transport every day). Accommodation, meals and transport are included in the package prices.

To enrol into the package “English + Volunteering”, you first need to choose your English language course, start date and course length, as well as choose your desired volunteering program, start date and length. Based on this, our team will send you a custom quote.
Prices for the volunterring placements range from $1,430 for a 1-week experience to $5,700 for a 6-week experience, but depend on projects. It is important to note that those fees include accommodation and meals.
