All ELC Junior students will join a Global Citizen class in the early afternoon, 5 days per week

The activities schedule is a key part of our Junior Program packages B-C-D: our excursions allow you to explore Sydney, learn outside of the classroom and build friendship with your classmates.

Your afternoon activities

Every afternoon Monday to Friday you will join activities or visits with your classmates and your teacher. Every week, we make sure to offer the perfect balance of cultural, sports and social activities so that you learn about Sydney and the Australian culture, but also have fun with your new international friends.

Guided afternoon activities are included and paid for in packages B, C and D (NOT included in package A – Learner).
Planning to enrol for 7, 8 or 9 weeks? Contact ELC to discuss your activity schedule.

We organize longer activities and excursions every Saturday specifically for our Junior students. These are a great way to visit some of Sydney’s iconic sights and tourist attractions which are not located in the city centre, or which take longer to visit. Students enjoy fantastic days out, typically from 10am to 4pm. These are a great opportunity for students to practice their English in a fully relaxed context and cement their new friendships.

These Saturday activities are included and paid for in packages C and D (NOT included in packages A and B).

Beyond the lessons and activities, we offer a full range of support services to our more independent participants: students travelling to Sydney by themselves, enrolling into our Package D – Globetrotter.

Your airport transfers

We make sure to look to after every aspect of our Package D – Globetrotter students, all along their stay in Sydney, including providing airport transfer both ways.

Arrival: Upon arrival at Sydney airport, our driver will pick you up and take you to your homestay, making sure you meet your host.

Departure: On return, our driver will pick you up from your homestay, drive you to the airport and drop you off at the departure terminal express drop-off bay, just outside your airline counters.

Note that upgrade options are also available for more assistance upon airport drop off – see “Optional Extras”.

If you are travelling by yourself and need accommodation, enrol into Package D – Globetrotter and we will organize your accommodation with a caring homestay family. This is a great way to experience the joy of cultural exchange and improve your English further by speaking with your host family every day.

Host families typically live in quieter suburbs, 35 to 60 minutes’ commute time to school. Your host will help you get your transport card and show you the way to school on your first day.

You will be accommodated in your own single room, and will share your host’s daily life in the evenings and on Sundays. Your host will provide your breakfast and dinner every day, as well as lunch on the weekend.

You will be able to buy your own lunch close to school, or you might choose to ask for lunch packs to be prepared for you by your host family (See “Optional Extras”)

Students on our Globetrotter package will be well-looked after all along their stay: In addition to the care and support from the ELC team of teachers and student services staff at school, as well as the care and guidance from their homestay family, each student on the Globetrotter program will be assigned a dedicated local guardian for the duration of their enrolment In case of illness, personal issues or emergency, this appointed caregiver will be able to step in and assist 24/7.

This service offers an extra layer of reassurance and comfort for both parents and students and is included for all students taking part in our Globetrotter program, covering them from the moment they arrive to the moment they depart.

For even more peace of mind, we offer our Package D – Globetrotter students the option to upgrade to the following 2 extra services:

Packed lunches

As part of Package D – Globetrotter, your host family will provide:

  • Breakfast every day
  • Lunch on the weekend
  • Dinner every day

Lunch on weekdays: On week days, students generally purchase their lunch from a local food court, 5 minutes’ walk to school. One of our team members will show you how to get there on your first day and this is where most of your classmates will go to eat each day. This allows you to choose your own meal according to your own preferences, and it is also a great way to practise your English and to develop your independence.

Packed lunches on weekdays: Alternatively, we also offer the option of daily packed lunches prepared by the host family (usually a sandwich and piece of fruit). This needs to be booked as an optional extra service at the time of enrolment.

Regular airport drop off service included in Package D – Globetrotter: As part of our package D – Globetrotter services, our drivers drop students off at the departure terminal express drop off bay 3 hours prior to their flight departure time. The Sydney Airport departure terminal is very easy to navigate and our driver will make sure to drop students off just outside of their airline counters. It is typically only a 20-metre walk from where our driver will drop them off to their airline’s check-in counters. This service is included in the Package D – Globetrotter price and is the preferred option for most families.

However, 3 upgrade options are available if required:

  • Upgrade option 1: Take to counter service
  • Upgrade option 2: Take to counter service + Check-in assistance
  • Upgrade option 3: Take to counter service + Check-in assistance + Wait until flight take off (meets all airlines’ UMS requirements for students flying as “Unaccompanied Minor”).
