At ELC, we are constantly striving to enhance our students’ experience.

Following consultation with our students, we have decided to introduce slightly different timetables.

What remains the same?

  • All our daytime intensive courses will continue to include 27hrs of tuition per week.
  • The core 20hrs (15hrs of Major program + 5hrs of Special Focus Modules elective class) will continue to be delivered across 4 days, Monday to Thursday.
  • Students will still be able to attend 5hrs of English Extra classes, workshops or excursions on Fridays if they wish to. The timetable for the Friday remains unchanged and is the same for all students.
  • Students will still be able to join an extra 2hrs conversation class each week if they wish to. These two 1hr classes take place at the end of the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • We will continue to operate staggered timetables Monday to Thursday, allowing all students optimum access to our facilities and services.
  • Which timetable a student is allocated to will depend on their level. Students cannot choose their timetable.

What is changing?

  • Break times will be shorter (2 x 30-min breaks + 1 x 15-min break each day)
  • For students who do not attend any optional classes, the school day will become shorter (6hrs15min at school for 5hrs of study), allowing more time for work, social outings or sightseeing.

As these changes are minimal compared to our previously advertised timetables and as they are an improvement for all students, we will be implementing them from Monday 18th March.
