Student visa changes

Change from “GTE – Genuine Temporary Entrant” declaration to “GS – Genuine Student” test

Change from “GTE – Genuine Temporary Entrant” declaration to “GS – Genuine Student” test

Those of you whose activity is heavily focused on student visas to Australia will already be fully across the details of these upcoming changes.
For those of you who only enrol students on a visitor or Working Holiday visa, the upcoming changes have no impact.
But for those of you who only enrol occasional student visa applicants, we would like to draw your attention to the upcoming changes, which came into effect over the weekend: The Government has replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for student visas with a Genuine Student (GS) requirement. Full details can be found from the following links.
Note that the changes will NOT affect student visa applications already lodged.
